The Dhammapada: Wisdom of the Buddha

From ancient times to the present, the Dhammapada has been regarded as the most succinct expression of the Buddha’s teaching found in the Pali canon and the chief spiritual testament of early Buddhism.

To his followers, the Buddha is neither a god, a divine incarnation, or a prophet bearing a message of divine revelation, but a human being who by his own striving and intelligence has reached the highest spiritual attainment of which man is capable — perfect wisdom, full enlightenment, complete purification of mind. His function in relation to humanity is that of a teacher — a world teacher who, out of compassion, points out to others the way to Nibbana (Sanskrit: Nirvana), final release from suffering. His teaching, known as the Dhamma, offers a body of instructions explaining the true nature of existence and showing the path that leads to liberation. Free from all dogmas and inscrutable claims to authority, the Dhamma is founded solidly upon the bedrock of the Buddha’s own clear comprehension of reality, and it leads the one who practices it to that same understanding — the knowledge which extricates the roots of suffering. The title “Dhammapada” which the ancient compilers of the Buddhist scriptures attached to our anthology means portions, aspects, or sections of Dhamma.

Stephen Hawking Goes Grey – The Resonance Project Foundation

supermassive-black-hole-wallpaper-30971-hd-wallpapers
Excerpt from a recent article at The Resonance Project Foundation discussing a recent talk given by Stephen Hawking.  Garnering extensive media attention, Hawking redefines the event horizon of a black hole effectively stating that information can be emitted from the trans-horizon area of a black hole – making them more akin to “grey holes”, where information (matter and energy) can go in, and come out as well.

Many have been asking, “How does Hawking’s latest work affect Haramein’s theory?” Also, “Is there any other recent interesting approaches to the information loss paradox?

In 1997 Haramein at the Sequoia Symposium (an interdisciplinary scientific conference) first proposed that black holes should be redefined as white holes / black holes, where the white hole portion is concentric to a central black hole. He coined this new definition of a black hole – “Black Whole”, eventually leading to the publishing by Gaiam Corporation of a DVD on the subject entitled Black Whole. Haramein claimed that information (or the electromagnetic field) could escape the black hole to produce a white portion on its surface due to turbulence and twisting or torsion as a result of a spacetime torque generated by a density gradient of the quantum vacuum fluctuations producing Coriolis effect, “weather patterns”, on the surface horizon. Haramein described this white hole / black hole relationship as a feedback structure between the electromagnetic field and the gravitational field which defined the topology of a dual torus structure, where radiation is most prominent at the equator and absorbed at the poles. Immanuel Velikovsky – Challenging Truths (Camera Three – 1964)

Immanuel Velikovsky was a controversial author, his views on astronomical and historical events have been widely rejected by the academic community, despite some of his ideas to be later proven true. His books use comparative mythology and ancient literary sources to argue that Earth suffered catastrophic close contacts with other planets (principally Venus and Mars) in ancient times.

Greg Fox – Mitral Transmission

mitral-transmission-scan-web

In the winter of 2013, Greg Fox was invited by master jazz drummer and holistic healer, Milford Graves to visit his basement lab in Queens, NY. It was there that Mr. Graves had spent years developing technology to generate music from the natural rhythms of the human heart. This music, according to Milford, could be used both as a diagnostic tool for human health and as means for musicians to find and follow their own natural rhythms.

The real school of music and how to properly learn music is to listen to your inner self. Music is not played with an external instrument, it is played with your universe-connected mind.
– Milford Graves

A willing subject of Milford’s experiments, Greg Fox was fitted with specialized bio-sensing machinery connected to a computer programmed with custom software that allowed him, for the first time, to hear the the music of his own body. The elaborate score resulting from this visit was then used as the basis for the compositions found on Mitral Transmission.

A. T. Mann – LifeTime Astrology Lecture

World renowned author, artist and astrologer A.T. Mann takes us on a compelling journey through his unique perspective on astrology which expands traditional models into spiral structures. LifeTime Astrology examines life as an unfolding process in time where the natal chart is the cross-section of a much deeper and logarithmic time scale. From this point of view, much can be revealed about the multiple octaves of our life experience, from gestation to death and beyond. With an unparalleled synthesis of modern science, symbolism and various traditions, we present a refreshing take on the age old art and science of astrology.

At the end of the lecture, A.T. shares the trailer for a documentary film that he is developing called The Quest for Happiness which features the Dalai Lama and explores links between neuroscience and meditation.

Blue Eyes Originated 10,000 Years Ago in the Black Sea Region

2125526639_blueeye_answer_1_xlarge(The Mind Unleashed) A team of researchers from Copenhagen University have located a single mutation that causes the mysterious phenomenon of blue eyes. And all blue eyed people are genetically related to a person who lived in the Black Sea region sometime between 6 – 10,000 years ago.

The research was published in the Journal of Human Genetics. A mutation in a gene called OCA2 came into being nearly 8,000 years ago. It can be definitively traced back to an ancestor from the Black Sea. […]

Unravelling the Genetics of Elongated Skulls – Brien Foerster Interview

In this revealing interview, Brien Foerster sheds lights on DNA testing undertaken on one of the Paracas elongated skulls. More than 300 of these elongated skulls have already been found and physical features suggest that the skulls were not the result of head binding or head flattening practices.

Brien Foerster reveals new details about the recent genetic testing carried out on one of the Paracas skulls and what exactly the DNA analysis showed. He also shares his own theory about the findings and discusses what will happen now that this initial result has been announced.

Roger Penrose – Forbidden crystal symmetry in mathematics and architecture

Sir Roger Penrose provides a unique insight into the “forbidden symmetry” of his famous penrose tiles and the use of non-repeating patterns in design and architecture.

It is a rigorous mathematical theorem that the only crystallographic symmetries are 2-fold, 3-fold, 4-fold, and 6-fold symmetries.

Yet, since the 1970s 5-fold, 8-fold, 10-fold and 12-fold “almost” symmetric patterns have been exhibited, showing that such crystallographically “forbidden symmetries” are mathematically possible and deviate from exact symmetry by an arbitrarily small amount. Such patterns are often beautiful to behold and designs based on these arrangements have now been used in many buildings throughout the world.

Water found in stardust suggests life is universal

stardust(New Scientist) A sprinkling of stardust is as magical as it sounds. The dust grains that float through our solar system contain tiny pockets of water, which form when they are zapped by a blast of charged wind from the sun.

The chemical reaction causing this to happen had previously been mimicked in laboratories, but this is the first time water has been found trapped inside real stardust.

Combined with previous findings of organic compounds in interplanetary dust, the results suggest that these grains contain the basic ingredients needed for life. As similar dust grains are thought to be found in solar systems all over the universe, this bodes well for the existence of life across the cosmos. […]
